Hello hai lovely readers *waving right hand*
Its Philippines food i am bringing you in this Entry. I am a fans of Philippines actually. I enjoyed watching Philippines Drama series ~ Panga Ko Sayo, Ina Kapatid Anak and many more. Being friends with some Filipinos has exposed me with some Philippines foods ~ Adhobo, Tu-run, Biko, Cassava cake .. just to name a few and now so excited to welcoming Jolibee to Malaysia *next year .. hopefully*.
Adhobo ~ brought by Carolyn Ramoran Hamilton Malasig ~ the Diplomatic Wife of The Philippines Embassy in Malaysia during our International Night Gathering. This chicken dish cooked with soy sauce and eat with Cili Padi is Super delicious thoo .. Yummy! Thanks Carol!
Cassava cake and Biko that i tried at the Philippines Embassy Event recently .. slightly the same with our Malay Bingka Ubi Kayu and Wajik but theirs is less sweet .. ours is 'sangat manis dan berlemak' Haha.
I was invited by The Philippines Embassy to view their Exhibition booth at Food & Hotel Malaysia 2015 Exhibition and off course .. Its Philippines food !! so here were are ~ Booth 1111, Hall 1 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on 29th September 2015. *Photo from www.thethinkerbell.com*
The first product that capture my attention was Mama Sita's ~ What is Mama Sita's? Ohhh its my Grandmother's name .. answered by one beautiful lady and she started to shared with me about the products.
Ms Peach Reyes, the fourth generation of Mama Sita's founder shared with us their successful story .. started in 1983, Mama Sita's are available and well known in 40 countries around the world includes in the Middle East and USA. Ohh Malaysia ... please bring Mama Sita's here cos I'm in love with it especially the Hot Pepper Sauce ~ taste like Tobasco but better, i guess. Its All Natural hot and spicy pepper sauce and I love it!
On top of Mama Sita's they do have Virgin Coconut Oil and Coconut Vinger too. Dip the crackers into it .. its yummy!
Other products that i spotted on the shelf ~ It came all the way from Philippines specially for this Exhibition.
Another interesting products of Philippines from ChocoVron Global Corporation ~ A light biscuits and snack packed in a box.
I tried the ChocoVron ~ Polvoron like no other cookies & cream and OhMyyy .. its so delicious and tasty. Not to sweet, not dry and the taste is so tempting. Feel like I want More after taking a piece and Yess .. Please import this to Malaysia too so that I dont have to fly to Philippines to get it.
Polvoron or pulburon in Tagalog is a type of heavy, soft and very crumbly Spanish shortbread made of flour, sugar, milk and nuts (source : Wikipedia).
A close up of the Polvoron *Photo from https://www.facebook.com/carolific?ref=ts&fref=ts.* Looks and taste nice! Ahhh .. so much love for this piece of shortbread.
And off course .. one of the products that I look forward to is The Philippines Mango! Tried it once at Alvin's and Carol's house and fall in love with it. Its sweet, juicy and delicious.
The Dried Mangoes are not bad too.
More Made in Philippines products *love*
Most of the products on the exhibition do have Halal Certificate by the approved appointed accredited body by JAKIM. Only 2 or 3 products are pending approval from the Halal Certification in Philippines. So readers, do not worry to try.
Three (3) loves food from Philippines ~ Mama Sita's Hot pepper sauce, Philippines mango and Chocovron Polvoron @ pulburon, this three items has made my favorites food from Philippines longer. Love it and I want it here in Malaysia.
All in .. all in .. we had a blast spending few hours at Food & Hotel Malaysia 2015 exhibition at the Philippines Booth mainly, trying and enjoying their food and I brought home a goodies bag from Mama Sita's.
