Sheila Majid LIVE @ Belum Rainforest Resort

Remember my entry about An Exclusive Evening with Sheila Majid at the oldest rainforest in the world, Belum Rainforest Resort which aims to highlight the importance of forest conservation, a cause deeply engrained into the corporate DNA of Belum Conservation, a subsidiary of the EMKAY Group, to preserve and protect its natural surroundings? I made my way to Belum Rainforest Resort on 29th April 2017 to witness our Queen of Jazz @ Malaysian songbird, Sheila's exclusive performance. The packages for Sheila's exclusive intimate showcase priced from RM3,100.00 to RM6,000.00 (inclusive of accommodation, food and beverages and exclusive access to her showcase) were SOLD OUT. Her show were witnessed by more than 100 guests from all walks 

Sheila started her performance with Pengemis Muda, a song which marked her debut in 1985 through her Dimensi Baru album. I was only 12 years old when Pengemis Muda was released. I sang the song with my sisters .. the sweet, young, cute and petite Sheila then became our Idol. We started to follow her .. bought all her album, watched her show at Stadium Negara *among that I remembered* Aduhai kenangan .. mana mungkin kami lupakan and watching her LIVE on stage again at her 50s .. my feeling was .. Undescribed. Sheila, just like before .. never failed to impressed me. Misz-ella sentiasa kagum dan tak pernah jemu dengan Sheila.

Lead by her own husband, Acis as Musical Director, guests to the resort were enthralled by the songstress' soulful vocals amidst the luscious setting provided by Belum Rainforest Resort. Sheila then continued her performance with her timeless classics including Sinaran, Warna, Lagenda, Dia, Aku Cinta Padamu, Antara Anyer dan Jakarta and Ku Mohon ~ lagu yang sering menjadi kekuatan dan dorongan dalam hidup Misz-ella. Ye. Membesar dengan lagu-lagu Sheila, tiap baris ayat dan melodi lagu dendangan beliau sangat bermakna dan memberi erti dalam kehidupan. The crowd were seen singing together, danced and entertained *includes me* Sheila is the real entertainer who sang with her soul.

Sheila is known with her tendency in singing song from the late Tan Sri P. Ramlee and Puan Sri Saloma. During her sharing session with the audience, Sheila said Sepertimana filem-filem beliau, saya suka menyanyikan lagu kedua-dua Tokoh ini kerana mahu agar karya-karya hebat ini sentiasa bermain di telinga peminat beliau dan tidak dilupakan, sepertimana filem-filemnya yang sentiasa kita tonton di kaca TV dan Sheila kemudiannya terus memukau penonton dengan lagu-lagu seperti Jelingan Manja, Pandanglah Lihatlah, Bila Larut Malam dan Getaran Jiwa. 

I was waiting for Engkau Laksana Bulan but .. so sad! Terdengar-dengar di hujung telinga suara merdu Sheila menyanyikan lagu indah karya Allahyarham Tan Sri P. Ramlee itu .. I always remember the way she delivered and sing Engkau Laksana Bulan .. next show ye Sheila *hopefully!*

A special tribute segment for the world's Legend Star, Michael Jackson was also presented by Sheila. With her own style, Sheila amazed the crowd with I'll Be There, You Are Not Alone, One Day In Your Life and many more. Throughout her performance which lasted a little more than one hour, Sheila presented 20 songs inclusive songs for her latest album, Boneka. Crowds were entertained but .. we want more! Can't get enough of you, Sheila.

During the Press Conference after the showcase, Sheila expressed her gratitude for the success of the concert and the warm welcome given by the fans in this fund-raising environmental mission. A portion of the proceeds garnered from the showcase are channeled towards the Pulau Banding Foundation, a non-profit and non-political organisation aimed at promoting research and eco-tourism through the sustainable development of the fragile ecosystems of the Belum-Temengor Rainforest Complex. Dato Fazwinna Tan Sri Mustapha Kamal, Executive Director of EMKAY Group added EMKAY Group are happy with support received. Following the success of Sheila's showcase, EMKAY Group hoped that the collaboration with Sheila in an effort to raise awareness of the environment and natural treasures can be further expanded to a larger scale in the future.
