Another exciting sport event I brought to you. This time is about AkTION Langkawi.
Langkawi is a beautiful island with mountains, beaches, forest and distinct inhabitants which has been declared by UNESCO as one of 94 globally recognised Geoparks from 27 countries.
Langkawi which is famous among the local and the international tourist has taken another approach to strengthen its tourism with eco-friendly sport since 2016 via their first pilot project, Tuba Trail Run.
Organiser, E-Plus Global Sdn Bhd and supporter Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) expands the successful pilot project of Tuba Trail Run in April to a triple treat for eco-sport athletes around the world under the umbrella of AkTION including the Tanjung Rhu SwimFest, Mount (Mt.) Mat Chinchang SkyBridge Climb and the Tuba Trail Run 2017.

"Following the success of the Run, we are now launching this brand new AkTION series that cover eco-sports on both land and water. Langkawi is well connected with other states within Malaysia, and also from neighbouring countries. Therefore, our intent is to add eco-sports that is suitable for sports enthusiasts of all levels, as pillar to supplement Langkawi's popular leisure tourism" said Encik Iskandar Shahril, the Managing Director of E-Plus Entertainment Productions for Singapore and Thailand.
Tan Sri Khalid Bin Ramli, the Chief Executive Officer of Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) added that more than 400 domestic and international participants joined the April 2016 Tuba Trail Run. This positive outcome has made E-Plus to move forward with more eco-sport event on many parts of the beautiful island of Langkawi.

Tanjung Rhu Swim Fest ~ 10 December 2016
The first beach international open swimming event in Malaysia which will be happening on 10 December 2016 is now open for registration.
This open water swimming competition will be offering 3 categories :-
2km route (For participants from 14 years old)
4km route (For participants from 16 years old)
6km route (For participants from 18 years old)
Starting by the captivating Tanjung Rhu beach, participants will be able to swim close to the close international borders which provides a unique opportunity to experience Malaysia and Thailand in a single location.
Mt. Mat Chinchang SkyBridge Climb ~18 February 2017
Wooopsss !! This is interesting ~ Climbing up to the peak of Mt. Mat Chinchang on your own foot! Starting from the Oriental Village, passing the cable car's Middle Station, crossing across the renowned SkyBridge as well as climbing up to the Top station.
For the very first time, the trail is open for a race. Trail enthusiasts can seize the opportunity to experience the beautiful panorama of Mt. Mat Chinchang by taking part in this challenge which will be held on 18 February 2017. This 4.5km climb with the elevation of 650 metres is definitely a good platform for trail enthusiast to challenge their physical strength.
Tuba Trail Run ~ 8 April 2017
Tuba Trail Run is back for the second continuous year. Tuba Trail Run was introduced as a pilot project on April 2016, to expose the less visited Tuba Island to the domestic running market. Tuba Trail Run will return on 8 April 2017 and continue to be an eye-opener for first-timers and returning participants as they explore deeper on the islands distinct culture.
The 2017 edition will offer three varied distances, including a 4km fun run, a new 15km route and the 30km route to cater to runners of all levels.
