Starbucks team up with Naelofar again for a good cause!

Hello lovely readers,

Starbucks announced its second collaboration with Malaysian iconic entrepreneur and actress Neelofa, which presents a curated collection of scarves exclusive to Starbucks. Paying homage to Starbucks Frappuccino colors and Neelofa’s home-grown scarf brand, Naelofar, the Starbucks X Naelofar Scarf Collection is the first of its kind to be exclusively retailed at selected Starbucks stores.

The collaboration draws inspiration from the timeless and iconic colors of Starbucks Frappuccino beverages which draw on flavors derived from Chocolate, Caramel and Green Tea. As such, the scarves in the Starbucks x Naelofar collection will feature colors which include warm brown, soft beige and pastel green. Packaged in an adorable Starbucks tumbler replica, the scarves themselves are made of pleated material and can be versatilely worn in a multitude of styles to accessorize and complete any outfit.

This collaboration marks the second in recent times, following the success of MY Cups of Kindness Campaign last year which saw the artist joining forces with Starbucks to spread messages of kindness. As part of that campaign, Starbucks donated RM0.50 from the sale of each of it's then newly released Summer Frappuccino varieties to a charity of Neelofa’s choosing.

Taking a cue from that initiative, RM1 from each Starbucks x Naelofa scarf purchase will once again be donated to a charity of Neelofa’s choice.

“It is indeed an honor to work with Starbucks once again, this time fusing my passion for scarves and my love for Starbucks Frappuccinos. So naturally, the Starbucks x Naelofar collection is truly something I hold very near and dear. The Starbucks x Naelofar scarves is made in Heavy Pleated Chiffon material and in Shawl style which I personally love, and I’m sure my fans would love it too. I am thankful to Starbucks for this unique opportunity and I hope my fans and
Starbucks customers alike will enjoy the collection.” said Neelofa.

As design enthusiasts, Starbucks draws on vibrant practices which have seen it partner with notable personalities within Malaysia’s fashion and design fraternity in the past, including the likes of Rico Rinaldi. Starbucks Malaysia prides itself for curating products derived from a diversity of local niche designer brands to express creativity through the Starbucks X series. Through this exclusive designer collection, Starbucks hopes to support local talent by accentuating and promoting them to its customers.

“At Starbucks Malaysia, we continuously seek ways to collaborate with local talents by providing them a platform to showcase their creativity with us. After we conducted the MY Cups of Kindness campaign with Neelofa, we received a truly overwhelming response. So this scarf collection is a natural succession of that campaign, which will once again contribute towards Neelofa’s charity efforts through her passion and art plus you can only get this Starbucks x Naelofar Scarf Collection exclusively at Starbucks stores,” said Sydney Quays, Chief Executive Officer of Berjaya Food Berhad and Managing Director of Starbucks Malaysia and Brunei.

In conjunction with the upcoming Merdeka and Malaysia Day celebrations, Starbucks has also released a limited-edition Malaysian Tiger Bearista. Featuring the iconic Starbucks Bearista wearing a Tiger onesie, the Starbucks Bearista, pays tribute to the iconic Malayan Tiger, now an endangered species.

Available from 5 August onwards, the Starbucks x Naelofar scarves collection  priced at RM75 each and RM1 of each scarf purchase will be donated to Neelofa’s charity of choice.

Meanwhile, the limited-edition Malaysian Tiger Bearista is priced at RM88. Exclusive to Malaysia, both the Starbucks x Naelofar Scarf Collection and Malaysian Tiger Bearista will be available at all Starbucks stores nationwide, while stocks last.

So readers, if you are a fan of Starbucks, lets support this good cause by purchasing Starbucks x Naelofar scarves collection and Malaysian Tiger Bearista. For more information, please visit the Starbucks Malaysia website at www.starbucks.com.my.

Rindu Yang Dulu-Dulu

Hello my lovely readers,

It's been a while since we last 'borak-borak' together di dalam blog Dari Jari-Jari Halusku ini. Rindu nak borak-borak, nak share thought, nak kongsi kisah-kisah peribadi yang tidaklah 'terlalu peribadi' .. rindu nak ber blog seperti dulu .. masa tu tiada sosial media, what we did to introduce our blog was blogwalking, leave comment, or say Hi at the Chat box.

Dengan lafaz niat tersebut, maka Misz-ella pun menulis blog, sharing my life journey as a mother for 1 kid. All the bittersweet moment that we went through together, places that we visited together .. etc .. etc.

After almost 10 years, I am still a blogger. Somehow, I feel that my life as a blogger is very interesting. I travel the world with my blog. I was one of the earlier bloggers who wrote about Muslim travel in Vietnam.

I went to Kashmir and shared about my experiences with the travel agent but what touched my heart more was when Fahad, my travel agent who took care of me while I was in Kashmir passed away, it was my blog which survived his wife life. Asma kept on receiving bookings or orders from Malaysia through my blog post. Alhamdulillah.

I shared my life as a Fitness addict in my blog and met new friends who came to the dance studio that I used to went to .."Kak Ella, saya datang ke sini kerana tulisan akak" Alhamdulillah. Jika adik membaca tulisan saya ini, saya harap awak istiqomah dan masih tetap bersenam seperti Kak Ella"

I also met many new friends through my blog. From stranger we became good friends. Ye. Blogging menjalin ukhuwah sesama insan. Banyak lagi kebaikan ber blog sebenarnya.

Time flies. I blogged since Aiman was just a small boy and he is going to celebrate his 23rd birthday, soon.

Sebenarnya paling penting dalam hidup ini adalah konsisten. Konsisten dalam setiap perkara yang kita lakukan dan untuk memastikan kita tetap konsisten, buatlah perkara yang kita suka. In Sha Allah kita akan kekal membuatnya.

Tanah Aina Banana Leaf Restaurant presents South Indian food in a different way!

Hello lovely readers,

One of the most popular foods in Malaysia is 'Mamak or Indian' food which offers a vast variety of food and flavours.

Most of Malaysian love banana leaf rice which is mostly served in the Indian restaurant. Just a thought of the soft steam white rice with varieties of savoury curries, three types of vegetables, crunchy papadoms, fried dry chili, acar can arouse your appetite.

I recently had an opportunity to experience banana leaf cuisine at the newly opened Tanah Aina Banana Leaf Restaurant.

Located at No. 3, Jalan Mesra 1, Taman Mesra, Batu 3, Shah Alam, Selangor (next to Tanah Aina Cafe), Tanah Aina Banana Leaf Restaurant opened its door for business on June 2019.

Combining two different cultures, South Indian with a little touch of Western, Puan Sri Shariffa Sabrina Syed Akil, the owner of Tanah Aina chain of resorts and Tanah Aina chain of food and beverage outlets, said that her aim is to bring Indian cuisine food to the next level. Even food takes the spotlight, the ambiance plays a very important role too in order to provide guests with an unforgettable dining experience. Tanah Aina Banana Leaf Restaurant promises cleanliness, comfort and friendly service to its diners.

Once you stepped into the restaurant, you will be greeted with a cool ambiance. The combination of earth colours - white, green and brownish is a feast to the eyes and created a cool feeling to the heart.

The simple, minimalist and cool ID caught my eye's attention

A set of banana leaf rice with three types of vegetables, papadoms, fried dry chilis, acar, sambal and rasam is only priced at RM9.00. Curries are served on a tiny bowl individually. Free refills of curries and rice are available upon request.  The curry tasted so good and the vegetables were perfectly cooked

You can add-on other dishes such as Sotong/Udang Tiga Rasa, Ikan Lemak Kuning, Black Pepper Lamb, Curry, Kurma and Chicken Curry or Kurma too. Depending on the size ordered, prices started as low as RM4.00 only.

Some of the diners enjoying their banana leaf rice meal

I also tried a piece of Chapati. To be honest, I am not a fan Chapati *even though it is healthy and low in calories, (68 calories per piece only)* but once I eat it, I was instantly hooked with the taste and texture of this Indian flat bread served at Tanah Aina Banana Leaf Restaurant. It is soft, light, puffy and airy. I finished the whole piece!

I also tried two (2) pieces of Idli served with Chutneys and I finished it all too.

With vast variety of food, perfect ambiance, mouthwatering Indian cuisine and 'a reasonable price, Tanah Aina Banana Leaf Restaurant is definitely a perfect place for you and your loved one to dine at.

So, if you are at the nearby location, do look out for this restaurant and check it out!

Thank You AeroDarat Services Sdn Bhd - the preferred ground services for passenger

Hello lovely readers,

I was in Kota Kinabalu with some of my 'kesayangans' a few months ago. That was a short and sweet 3D2N holiday trip where we spent quality times enjoying Sabahans food, had our BBQ dinner at the beachfront villa, woke up and had my morning coffee with Puan Sri Dato Zainab *I called her Tok Nab, my mak angkat who is also a coffee lover like me), slept in the same room and we went here and there together. Good times come and go but the memories last forever .. so sweet, kan.

Me and Tok Nab in the MAS flight

Once I touched down KLIA, I found that my luggage bag was broken. This is due to the mishandled baggage services by the airline crew. Sad. I was so sad. I traveled the whole with this luggage bag and I love it so much!

What to do when your baggage was damaged during the flight? As a passenger, it is important for you to know that you may be entitled to compensation for the inconvenience caused.

Firstly, go to the AeroDarat office (for Malaysia Airlines passenger), meet the officer to lodge a written complaint. You will be required to fill up a simple form stating your personal particulars, flight details, ticket detail etc .. etc ..

Upon completion, the form will be processed by the Officer in charge. You will be given two options:-

To claim the compensation through your Travel Insurance policy where all documentations will be prepared and certified by AeroDarat Services crew
Or
Get compensate with a new baggage at the same time

Knowing that I had a very busy schedule, I chose Option 2, so I brought home a new luggage bag that night.

Kindly note that other than the damaged baggage, the passenger is also entitled to lost or delayed baggage as long as the written complaint is submitted to your airline:-
on arrival or within 7 days of arrival of your baggage is damaged
or
on arrival of within 21 days of arrival if your baggage is delayed

Thank You to the officer in charge who attended to my complaint. The matter was handled professionally, smoothly and I was happy.

Regardless what people say and varieties of airlines today, I always love to travel with Malaysia Airlines. Feeling so patriotic bila terbang dengan nama dan bendera Malaysia.

OK I'm done with my sharing session. Thank you for reading and see you in my next sharing. Bye.

In the end, life is short, Baby

BE KIND
In life, we will meet the unkind person who is unkind to us regardless of how kind we treated them. Be kind to them. They need it the most.

BE BEAUTIFUL
Beauty is when you appreciate yourself. Learn to like yourself, love and respect yourself and let those feelings grow each day. When you love yourself, you want nothing except the best for yourself. Isn't it beautiful?

BE YOURSELF
We can't please everyone. Even when we have done the best and do wrong to no one, there is still someone who is not happy or unsatisfied with us. It's ok. We do not have to work hard to be everyone's sweetheart. Just be you and stay true to your heart.

KEEP YOUR HEAD UP
Life is a journey full of challenges. Believe that in the middle of difficulty lies opportunity. Be strong because God chose to give the hardest battle to His toughest soldier. Always keep your head up and don't forget to 'lift'

LET IT GO
In the end, you can't always choose what to keep. Simply because it is not the best for you. No matter how difficult, let it go and let it be.

SET YOUR HEART FREE
Anger, hate, regret, envy, disappointment are negatives and can become toxic emotions that eat us up. None of these emotions are good for our heart. Set your heart free and enjoy positive vibes!

WALK AWAY
There comes a time in your life, you just have to walk away from all the drama and people who create it. No official goodbye, no bad words, no fight, and no hate. You just need to save yourself the hurt .. walk away.

In the end, life is short, baby. Too short to live in regret, to be sad, to look back, to be mad, to be depressed and to be unkind. Please remember to love all, trust a few and do wrong to none.
