In conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan, Concorde Hotel Shah Alam recently celebrated a grand Ramadan breaking of fast with the orphanages from Pusat Jagaan Nur Ekwan Ku and Rumah Sentuhan Budi at the hotel’s Grand Ballroom.
The event which was held for 15th consecutive year, started earlier with recital of 'Tahlil and Doa Selamat' lead by Ustaz Mohd Nizomudin.
The children were also entertained by ‘Bobo the Clown’ with colourful shapes and sizes of balloons.
Concorde Hotel Shah Alam also donate RM3,300.00 for each house.
YAD Dato’ Jugra Kurnia Diraja Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Syed Yusof bin Tun Syed Nasir, the Chairman of Shah Alam Hotel Sdn Bhd who were amongst the special guests quoted, “The practice of fasting presents social and spiritual purposes. Through hunger we are able to feel compassion for those who are in need, and focus on our relationship with the Almighty”.
He then, gave ‘duit raya’ and Goodies to the children. The children were smiling beamingly until the end of the evening.
Patrick Ng, the General Manager of Concorde Hotel Shah Alam said that “Fasting teaches us unselfishness,
patience and gratitude. The meaning of this experience in humanitarian context
is that to sympathize with the needy around the world, and responding to their
needs. We hope that through this humble gesture, these children get to fulfil
their wish to celebrate Raya in a joyous mood”.
