Hello lovely readers,
I recently had an opportunity to witness tree planting activity which was held at Forest Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM), Kepong organised by Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM), Central Bank of Malaysia (BNM) and Institute of Statics Malaysia (ISM).
This tree planting activity is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) awareness program in conjunction with 62nd ISI World Statistics Congress (ISI WSC) which was hosted in Kuala Lumpur from 18th - 23rd August 2019.
The ISI WSC 2019 is a congress which gathered the statistical community from all over the world to discuss the development, challenges, and innovation in areas related to statistical sciences. This prestigious congress positioned Malaysia at the centre of attention and will propel Malaysia's role in enhancing the development of statistical sciences.
Officiated by YBhg Dato' Sri Mohd Uzir Mahidin, Chief Statistician Malaysia and Chairman of National Organising Committee 62nd ISI World Congress 2019 on 17 August 2019, a total of 40 saplings made up of native Malaysian jungle flora species were planted by the congress participants with the objective of to curb environmental damages as well as to support the Green Malaysia campaign by off-setting part of the carbon footprint caused by rapid development.

This is in line with the 5 P's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. It addresses the global challenges related to prosperity, partnership, peace, planet and people.
Congratulations to the participants and organisers for the noble effort. "See Green, See Life"
